TRT was one of the founding members of the European Broadcasting Union (EBU) in 1972 and also signed Asia-Pacific Broadcast Union (ABU) in 2004. TRT operates 14 TV channels (5 in HD) and 19 radio stations in various languages including Turkish, English, Arabic, Azeri, and Kurdish. TRT World, a subsidiary, provides news and insights in 45 languages.
