THE AIR AMBULANCE NORTHERN IRELAND

Air Ambulance Northern Ireland (AANI) is a registered charity that operates a helicopter emergency medical service (HEMS) in partnership with the Northern Ireland Ambulance Service (NIAS). The EC135 helicopter can reach anywhere in the province in approximately twenty-five to thirty minutes. AANI attends to serious or life-threatening situations, providing pre-hospital care at the scene and during patient transfer. The service operates 365 days a year, with a crew including a pilot, doctor, and paramedic. AANI relies on public and local business support and requires approximately £2 million annually to operate.
