SOCIETY OF PROFESSIONAL ECONOMISTS

The Society of Professional Economists (SPE) is the leading organisation serving professional economists in the UK and Europe. It is a platform for individuals and organisations to help share ideas and build professional relationships. The Society organises networking events, professional development, education, high-profile conferences and an annual dinner. The SPE provides a forum for debating questions of economics, to extend their professional competency as economists and to interact with key economic policymakers. The Society maintains links with other bodies with similar interests, both in this country and overseas. Formerly the Society of Business Economists, the name was changed to reflect the broadening of its membership into areas that extended beyond business and the expansion of its activities in the area of professional development.
