SOCIETY OF CONSULTING MARINE ENGINEERS AND SHIP SURVEYORS(THE)

The Society of Consulting Marine Engineers and Ship Surveyors (SCMS) was founded in 1920 to provide a central organisation for Consulting Marine Engineers, Naval Architects and Ship Surveyors. The Society is an MCA appointed Certifying Authority offering a comprehensive range of technical marine services. Members' clients include yard owners, ship owners, marine underwriters, average adjusters, P & I clubs, ship and engine builders, salvage associations, class societies, statutory authorities, offshore industry, harbour authorities, members of the legal profession and others. The SCMS expanded to include Fishing vessel services and welcomed Fishing Vessel professionals into the organisation.
