PSYCHOTHERAPY WITH MAYA LTD

The Maya Centre is a community-based charity established in 1984 in Islington, providing free, culturally sensitive counselling, group work, and complementary therapies to women on low incomes. They support women whose mental health has been affected by experiences including depression and anxiety, violence against women and girls, inequality, discrimination and racism. They provide holistic support for women, including counselling, group and art therapies, psychoeducation and community workshops, and complimentary therapies. The intracultural team speaks 13 different languages, enabling women to access therapy in their own language. The Maya Centre prioritises intercultural and intersectional approaches via tailored support offered in 14 community languages. They also offer free counselling for women living in Islington, with some spaces for women from North London Boroughs of Hackney, Haringey and Camden depending on the criteria.
