North Devon Road Runners is made up of a group of people who just love running! The club has been in existence for more than 20 years and is a committee lead non profit sports club. We run for fun, for fitness, for weight loss and for speed. We meet at the Tarka Leisure Centre and have use their facilities, including a meeting area, changing rooms, showers and a cafe with bar. We recognise not everyone wants to be involved in competitive racing and may just be looking at running to provide a better level of fitness and a social scene to go with it. For those who are competitive; coaching, training and encouragement is given to ensure club members performances are enhanced. Memberships are heavily subsidised by the club, as we run on a non-profit basis. New members will be able to come to a 2 trial sessions before making your mind up to join. Apart from the fact that you might enjoy the company of like-minded people, instead of always running on your own, benefits that come with membership include: * Discount at sports retailers. Reduced entry fees for any race that is organised under UKA rules * Opportunity to enter the club ballot place/s for the Virgin Money London Marathon (Club Rules apply) In addition to our regular Tuesday group runs and Thursday coaching sessions; The club organises it's own races including, the Braunton (10 Mile & 10k), and Arlington Court Canter (10k & 5k). We run a winter series of 10k Handicap Races from the Tarka Leisure Centre and which sees every entrant having a equal chance of winning.
