MIDLOTHIAN ADVICE & RESOURCE CENTRE

Midlothian Advice and Resource Centre (MARC) is a community based social enterprise that collects unwanted furniture and white goods and provides them to families in the community on low income at a reduced or no cost. MARC has a community shop in Dalkeith where refurbished furniture and electrical equipment can be purchased. As a social enterprise, MARC also provides employment and volunteer opportunities to people in the community. The company's objects include furthering the education and training of socially excluded people resident in Midlothian, and relieving poverty and social distress. They also aim to protect and preserve the environment through sustainable waste management practices. The charity shop is based at 6 North Wynd, Dalkeith (behind the Bank of Scotland).
