London Container Terminal (LCT) is situated within the Port of Tilbury, the largest port on the River Thames. LCT is the UK’s leading facility for intra-European trade, linking countries from the Iberian Peninsula to the Baltic, and handles major deep-sea trades connecting West Africa and North America. LCT handles containers shipping between 162 ports across 74 different countries globally. It provides the quickest road and rail connectivity to the UK’s principal logistics hubs in the Midlands and offers cold chain and value-added services, with 1,400 reefer points and chill facilities on site. LCT also provides the UK’s fastest and most resilient landside operations. The port is part of the Port of Tilbury (London) which is the largest of 8 ports owned by Forth Ports and is the largest multi-modal port in the South East, with an annual throughput of 16 million tonnes and handles a diverse range of cargoes. It has an estate in excess of 1,000 acres and offers bespoke consolidation and portcentric solutions, supported by 5 million square feet of undercover warehousing and strong multimodal transportation links by road, rail, and barge.
