LEGAL AID PRACTITIONERS GROUP

LAPG is a membership body representing legal aid practitioners in England and Wales and the clients they serve. LAPG represents practitioners across England and Wales. We campaign on behalf of our membership and have ongoing dialogue with the LAA and MOJ to raise issues of concern to legal aid practitioners – solicitors, barristers, legal executives, caseworkers, costs lawyers – anyone working in and delivering legal aid services. LAPG ensures your voice is heard, gets results, keeps practitioners informed, meets your training requirements and celebrates the work of legal aid lawyers. LAPG engages directly with the LAA and MOJ to influence policy and improve the practical operation of the legal aid scheme. We are concerned about the big policy issues, but also the day-to-day problems that impact on front-line practitioners and their clients. LAPG sits on a number of consultation and advisory groups with the MOJ and LAA, representing the interests of practitioners and clients alike, and constantly pressing Government to improve the operation of the scheme and reinvest in legal aid and the wider justice system.
