The Institute of Scientific and Technical Communicators (ISTC) is the largest UK body representing information development professionals. They promote better scientific and technical communication by encouraging professional development, sharing best practices and standards, publishing their quarterly professional journal Communicator, providing networking opportunities for members and industry affiliates, hosting the UK Technical Communication Awards, and promoting technical communication as a profession. They also offer recruitment services and business affiliate programs. The ISTC hosts the annual TCUK conference and the UK Technical Communication Awards.
