INSTITUTE OF HERALDIC AND GENEALOGICAL STUDIES(THE)

The Institute of Heraldic and Genealogical Studies is an independent educational charitable trust established to provide full academic facilities for training and research in the study of the history and structure of the family. It was established in Northgate, Canterbury, in 1961. The Institute promotes research, study, and training in all aspects of family history, including heraldry. It offers a range of Distance Learning courses in both genealogy and heraldry, from elementary level to advanced. Courses are also available at the Institute by attending day and residential courses. Activities include education in family history, genealogy, heraldry, and other subjects auxiliary to history.
