Independent Advocacy Perth & Kinross (IAPK) aims to help people by supporting them to express their own needs and make their own informed decisions. We are a completely confidential and free service for those living in Perth & Kinross. They provide independent advocacy for adults in the following groups: learning disability; personality disorder; autism; additional support needs; drug and alcohol use; people under Mental Health (Care and Treatment) (Scotland) Act 2003; people subject to Adult Protection; people subject to Adults with Incapacity legislation; unpaid Carers; prisoners in HMPs Perth and Castle Huntly; patients in Rohallion Secure Care Clinic. IAPK provide independent advocacy for children & young people in the following groups : under Mental Health (Care and Treatment) (Scotland) Act 2003 and any child working with Perth and Kinross Social Work Team. IAPK can help by: Helping to write letters and make phone calls; Sourcing information and contacts; Helping prepare for and attend meetings.
