The Independent Society of Musicians (ISM) is the UK’s professional body for musicians and a subject association for music. The ISM has supported generations of musicians for over 140 years and has been dedicated to promoting the importance of music, and defending the rights of those working in the music profession. The ISM supports over 11,000 members across the UK working in all areas of the music sector – from performers, composers, and educators to DJs, music administrators and sound engineers. The ISM Trust is the ISM’s sister charity, offering high quality professional development to everyone working in music.
