HOPE COVE LIFE BOAT

Hope Cove Life Boat was formed in 2011 to save lives in Bigbury Bay. Operating from Hope Cove, our “patch” stretches from Prawle Point across to Stoke Point, near the mouth of the River Erme. Hope Cove Lifeboat is an independent lifeboat funded entirely by public donations. The crew is now made up from local volunteers who train every Tuesday evening and respond to the many ‘call outs’ or ‘shouts’ despatched to us by the MCA. We are a completely independent lifeboat, not part of a larger organisation, but we work alongside teams from the RNLI, HM Coastguard, Devon Air Ambulance and other agencies. The team raises funds by running various events such as quiz nights, selling clothing, running a 50/50 and any other ideas that raise money to keep the boat in operation.
