GUYSMERE TRUST

Guysmere Trust was formed in 2020 to explore the potential for the development of a Residential and Conference Centre on the site of the former Guysmere Centre in Castlerock, five miles west of Coleraine. The Trust has leased the site from the Presbyterian Church in Ireland. The aim is to create a world-class facility that is available to a wide-ranging marketplace of users and visitors and where faith can be discovered and explored. The Development Proposal comprises a Centre for: Exploring Ulster’s Christian Heritage, Learning from CS Lewis: his Roots and Legacy, and Discovering the Ulster-Scots – their History, Faith and Culture. The charity’s objects are the advancement of the Christian religion in general and including the provision, operation and maintenance of the Facility with a Christian ethos and in accordance with Christian principles. The Trust will provide facilities for groups to use the space for daytime and/or evening non-residential activities, or for longer residential periods to deliver their programmes.
