FUTURE BIOGAS GROUP LIMITED

Founded in 2010, Future Biogas is a highly experienced developer and operator of AD plants across the UK, responsible for over £120m in biogas infrastructure. The company runs a significant percentage of the highest-performing plants in the UK and provides a complete service to investment funds in Anaerobic Digestion. This includes construction, commissioning, optimization, operations, maintenance, biology, feedstock, Health and Safety, Environmental and Ofgem compliance, and financial reporting. Future Biogas operates 12 large-scale AD plants, located across the East and North-East of England. It is also pioneering the first unsubsidised biomethane project in the UK - Project Carbon Harvest. The company partners with businesses to decarbonize their gas and heat demands, and helps offset residual emissions with high-integrity carbon removal solutions. It also partners with local farmers to grow energy crops, which serve as feedstock for AD plants. Future Biogas was acquired by 3i Infrastructure Plc in early 2023. In October 2024, 3i Infrastructure signed an agreement to syndicate approximately 23% of its stake in Future Biogas to RWE Energy Transition Investments.
