F2 Chemicals Ltd is a UK manufacturer of high purity perfluorinated fluids under the Flutec trade name. The fluids are fully fluorinated and contain only fluorine and carbon atoms. Their properties include excellent thermal stability, chemical inertness, electrical resistivity and gas solubility. They are also non-toxic and non-flammable. F2 Chemicals also manufactures Fluorotherm D (HFP Dimer) and Fluorotherm T (HFP Trimer), which are alternatives to perfluorinated fluids in some heat transfer applications. Furthermore, they provide Selective Direct Fluorination services and assist customers with Research and Development work requiring expertise in the handling and formulation of elemental fluorine. F2 Chemicals Ltd was established in 1992 as BNFL Fluorochemicals Ltd, a diversification business belonging to British Nuclear Fuels plc (BNFL). F2 supplies perfluorocarbons to many research and development facilities across the world and is keen to become involved in new applications.
