ENERGY AGENCY

The Energy Agency is a charitable organisation providing free, impartial and expert advice to households, businesses and communities, covering energy efficiency, renewable energy and sustainable transport. The aim is to reduce energy consumption and promote sustainability locally. Established in February 1999 as South Ayrshire Energy Agency, the organization now operates in South Ayrshire, East Ayrshire, North Ayrshire and Dumfries & Galloway, providing education work in schools, consultancy work, and project delivery of energy efficiency and renewable energy measures across Scotland. They also manage the Home Energy Scotland advice centre and run various projects including Energy Efficient Scotland – Area Based Scheme, Community and Renewable Energy Scheme, and a solid wall insulation evaluation project in partnership with NHS Ayrshire & Arran. The Energy Agency employs 43 full-time staff and 1 Renewables Consultant.
