EDINBURGH DEVELOPMENT GROUP (SCOTLAND)

Edinburgh Development Group is a development agency working to promote community inclusion. They use person centred planning, group work, community building and training to achieve their aims. They work in close partnership with people who have a learning difficulty and their families. EDG offers home visits, listens to what families need, and offers advice and practical support. They support families to look toward a positive future and help is offered to assist families to plan for emergencies. Their‘My Life Book’ enables families to make a record of the information they hold. EDG can also support individuals with learning disabilities and their families to develop person-centred plans. They were set up in 1991 and primarily work with people who have learning difficulties and their families, but also work with community groups, including others who may feel at risk of marginalisation.
