Born and bred on Australia’s Gold Coast, Chelsea has always dreamt of bringing the tasty “Aussie style” brunch culture to London through simple quality food, speciality coffee and a warm welcome. From humble beginnings, the journey first started in Chelsea’s kitchen, where she baked her banana bread for local cafes and delivered them on her bicycle. District opened its first branch in Parsons Green in May 2017, followed by a second site in Nine Elms in November 2017. The cafes are inspired by the beach, filled with natural light and are laid out with a clean and minimalistic feel. They prioritize local suppliers, who use select ingredients and work consciously for our environment, and have a monthly rotation of guest roasters to keep the offering ever-changing. District supports a sustainable food and drink industry in the UK and minimizes wastage. They are currently in the process of going carbon neutral and will soon be B Corp certified!
