Connect Psychology Service was founded by directors, Dr Janet Menna and Dr Kirsten Krawczyk, who recognised the need for an East Midlands-based Psychological Assessment Centre for children and young people who are adopted and looked after by the Local Authority. We are child and educational psychologists and practitioner psychologists who work in the East Midlands (Northamptonshire, Leicestershire, Loughborough, Nottinghamshire, Derbyshire). We offer school based work, including assessment, intervention, report writing and training. We have a passion for supporting schools, families and vulnerable children and as practitioner psychologists we can provide specialist assessments for adopted children and young people, and those who are Looked After by the Local Authority through the Adoption Support Fund. During the assessment process we assess and formulate a child/young person’s strengths and needs in order to determine the therapeutic and educational support required. Our assessments focus on relationships and person-centred principles. At the heart of Connect Psychology Service is a desire to help the families we work with to feel cared for and leave feeling hopeful about the future.
