About CHANGE OF SCENE

Company profile and description

Change of Scene is a local charity offering animal assisted outdoor learning to young people who are struggling in education. Founded in 2008 and based on a small holding in Farnham, Surrey, Change of Scene provides animal assisted learning to young people with a range of complex emotional, social and behavioural needs which cause them to flounder in education. With one-to-one support from a key worker, attendees spend one morning or afternoon a week learning to care for our 13 species of animals, as well as carpentry, horticulture and cooking, improving mental health and self-esteem. To date, 165 young people have attended Change of Scene, spending, on average, 12 months with the charity. Our attendees are children and young people aged 7 - 18 who need help to achieve their full potential. Most are at risk of, or already, excluded from education or struggling to take their next step in life.
