Cambridge GaN Devices (CGD) is a fabless semiconductor company designing, developing and commercialising energy-efficient GaN-based power devices to make greener electronics possible. CGD develops energy-efficient semiconductors using gallium nitride (GaN), reshaping the future of power electronics. CGD's technology will help electric vehicles and data centres be more energy efficient. ICeGaN power devices can operate at much higher switching frequency with lower losses and lower on-resistance than state-of-the-art silicon devices, delivering higher performance while increasing energy savings by as much as 50%. The funding will enable the company to expand its operations in Cambridge, North America, Taiwan and Europe.
