BRITISH CHLOROPHYLL COMPANY LIMITED specializes in the commercial production and development of natural green food coloring ingredients and plant extracts. Originally founded in 1937, and now a wholly owned subsidiary of Blankney Estates Ltd, BCC extracts its products from specialist grass and alfalfa, harvested from across the Estate farmland. The company is one of the world’s largest producers, and the largest in Western Europe. They produce and concentrate chlorophyll exclusively from Lincolnshire-grown dried grass and alfalfa. All batches are 100% traceable to the field of origin and are produced from pesticide-free crops. They also produce water-soluble chlorophyllin through the process of alkaline hydrolysis.
