BRITISH CHAROLAIS CATTLE SOCIETY LIMITED (THE)

The British Charolais Cattle Society is a registered charity, a not-for-profit company, limited by guarantee, that serves the public by promoting and improving the Charolais breed. The principal activities of the charity are the registration and genetic evaluation of Charolais cattle registered in the United Kingdom. Research work is carried out with various scientific organisations looking into efficient beef production, and improving the taste and tenderness of beef produced from Charolais cattle. Since 1962, the Society has promoted Charolais, highlighting its benefits for farmers, consumers, and the environment. The Charolais breed is known for its calving ease, growth rates, carcass quality, and high killing out percentages. The Society is driven to minimize costs and maximize the efficiency of British cattle farming.
