BRITISH ASSOCIATION FOR SEXUAL HEALTH AND HIV (BASHH)

The British Association for Sexual Health and HIV (BASHH) is the UK's leading professional organisation dealing with all aspects of sexual health care. Formed in 2003 through the merger of the Medical Society for the Study of Venereal Diseases (MSSVD) and the Association for Genitourinary Medicine (AGUM). BASHH aims to promote the study and practice of diagnosing and treating sexually transmitted diseases, HIV, and other sexual health problems. It also advances public health related to these issues, promotes education, and strives for high standards in Genitourinary Medicine. BASHH holds national meetings, an annual Spring Conference, clinical meetings by Special Interest Groups, a study day for doctors in training, and is developing additional educational activities and resources. Educational activities for doctors and other health care professionals working in Sexual Health are also organised at regional level through the Regional Branches.
