BRAIN INJURY MATTERS (NI)

Brain Injury Matters (NI) was established in 2013 as an independent regional third sector organisation supporting, promoting and empowering those individuals and families affected by acquired brain injury. Brain Injury Matters offers services to promote independence, foster personal development and enhance the quality of life for those affected by brain injury as a result of accident or illness. The Wellbeing Programme offers specialist community centre based support including Neurophysiotherapy, tailored exercise programmes, art, drama, music therapy, counselling, health awareness and other activities to sustain a good quality of life after rehabilitation for people over age 16. The Younger Person’s Network provides an intensive, structured personal development programme which combines physical, emotional and practical supports for teenagers and young adults. The Counselling and Information service offers emotional support for survivors and families, and training on all aspects of brain injury. Family First Project provides support to children with brain injury and their families from a Specialist Rehabilitation team in the home and community venues across NI. The Lets Move Programme offers a physical activity and sports programme for adults with brain injury. Brain Injury Matters has earned a reputation for developing and delivering a range of innovative programmes and initiatives led by a dedicated team of passionate, caring and experienced professionals for individuals affected by brain injury, their carers and wider community.
