The Botanical Society of Britain and Ireland (BSBI) is for everyone who cares about the wild plants of Britain and Ireland. Since 1836, it has been promoting the study, understanding, and enjoyment of British and Irish botany. The society is the biggest and most active organisation devoted to the study of botany in Britain, Ireland, the Channel Isles and the Isle of Man. They support all botanists – beginner or expert, amateur or professional - as they identify, record, and map what grows where: their data and knowledge underpin evidence-based conservation of the British and Irish flora. The BSBI is a charity registered in England and Wales (1152954) and in Scotland (SC038675).
