BETTER COMMUNITY DEVELOPMENT

Since 1981, Better Community Development (BCD) has served the Little Rock community through various programs. Hoover Treatment Center is a faith-based inpatient and outpatient alcohol & drug addiction treatment center and a community-based support system designed to provide substance abuse counseling, mental health therapy, health & wellness, and family life skills. BCD also offers transitional sober living through Will’s House (men) and the Empowerment Village (men & women). Better Community Development’s (BCD) mission is to improve the quality of life for low-income, underserved, disadvantaged and at-risk adults and their families suffering from substance abuse and drug addiction in Little Rock, Arkansas. BCD serves as a catalyst in low-income communities, utilizing its human, economic, and educational resources to meet the community’s most urgent needs. BCD is committed to positively addressing community problems (substance abuse, homelessness, joblessness, lack of life skills and education) and the root causes of socio-economic problems. BCD uses its unique and innovative, community based support system with a cultural perspective designed to provide a safe, holistic, comprehensive drug free environment for participants and their families.
