BETTER COMMUNICATION CIC

Better Communication CIC is a Community Interest Company, a not-for-profit organization established by Marie Gascoigne in 2011. The organization supports change in systems to help children, young people, and their families with speech, language, and communication needs (SLCN) and other areas benefiting from the Balanced System approach. Better Communication CIC utilizes the Balanced System Framework, developed by Marie Gascoigne, which is an outcomes-based approach to integrated service delivery. The company also provides training, advice, and support to implement change, and manages the Balanced System Schools and Settings accreditation scheme in partnership with NAPLIC and Afasic. Better Communication CIC is also involved in the Concept Cat intervention, including a randomised control trial. The organization aims to ensure the right people work with the right children in the right place at the right time, making the best use of resources. The company was commissioned by the Education Endowment Foundation to deliver a randomised control trial for the Concept Cat intervention that forms part of Word Aware 2.
