ABERDEEN FISH PRODUCERS' ORGANISATION, LIMITED

The Aberdeen Fish Producer’s Organisation (AFPO) was set up on the 10th October 1973 and is the oldest Producer Organisation in Scotland. It currently has 22 member vessels and the focus is predominantly on whitefish species. The main grounds our vessels fish are in the North Sea with some activity on the seas to the West of Scotland and the Celtic Sea. The annual value of the catch by member vessels is around 20 million pounds. AFPO sits on the board of Seafood Scotland and the Scottish Whitefish Producers Association and also chairs the North East Whitefish Forum. AFPO provides quota management, representation and marketing for fishermen and their produce.
