ABBEYFIELD SOUTH DOWNS LIMITED

Abbeyfield South Downs is an independent charity and a member of The Abbeyfield Society. They offer sheltered living houses for older people in Eastbourne (two houses), Heathfield, Hove, Tunbridge Wells and Worthing. Their aim is to enable residents to enjoy independence while benefiting from support and companionship. They offer a peaceful, friendly atmosphere and provide home-cooked meals. Abbeyfield South Downs was formed in 2011 from the merger of several local Abbeyfield Societies. Their focus is to combat loneliness among older people by bringing them together in shared accommodation. They have a history rooted in the values of Richard Carr-Gomm, a social reformer who recognized the impact of loneliness and isolation.
